The Sertoes rally is the most awaited rally circuit in Brazil, in fact, some consider it among the biggest sporting events in Brazil. It has one of the most challenging routes which vary and change yearly and with every edition being taken to a different state. The 25th edition takes the teams competing into three states which are; Goiás, Mato Grosso, and Mato Grosso do Sul. This edition will see more competitors than the 24th edition and will see a crowd favorite, the #322 T-Rex piloted by Michel Terpins and his navigator Maykel Justo. The two will be representing not only themselves but their team the Bull Sertões Rally Team. The track covers a distance of 3,300 kilometers. The track is further divided into two with 2200 kilometers covering special terrain. Due to the various challenges that are expected on the route, it is only fair to have the Support Park at the Autodromo Internacional de Goiânia. The Bull Sertões Rally Team hopes to do well this time and validate the combination of Terpins and Justo who came together in the 24th edition and despite the various challenges that they faced were still able to perform. Having worked on their communication and other minor challenges that they may have faced during there first encounter they are now more comfortable as teammates. The team expects to be sufficiently challenged by there teammate and Michel’s brother Rodrigo.Lately he has been in tiptoe form, and after completing his practice session, it was evident to Michel that he meant business in the 25th edition. This, however, is not a problem for Michel as he is used to challenges, in fact, he thrives on them.Having been a former cross country competitor and competition was similarly tight, he was able to rise to the top and does not see a reason as to why he cannot replicate that level of success in Rallying. Having received the Carbon free sticker, it goes without saying that Michel Terpins continues to remain conscious on the effects rallying may have on the environment and as such he is ready to mend any damage done. The project by the Green Initiative foundation ensures that more trees are planted to match the amount of carbon produced during any rally circuit.
Jacko or Jack Terpins always dreamed that his sons would join the world of sports. What he may not have anticipated is the level of excellence and competitiveness they would achieve. His son Michel Terpin a member of the Bull Sertões Rally Team is one of the best drivers in the Brazilian rally circuit. He began his career in the cross country championship. Michel terpin is remembered in the cross country championship as one of the most competitive and consistent winners. Starting at a young age ensured that he had the advantage of experience by the time he got into the main championship stage. As a junior competitor, he was able to grow himself to the top of the competition. By the time he reached the senior level he had achieved the skill and confidence that would see him go for the ultimate win. He was able to pull his weight and in subsequent competitions improve to become champion. He was at the top of the table when he decided to leave and join the Rallying world. This would ensure that he would already have a record to uphold when he joined the second part of his career as a competitive racer.
The formidable team of Rodrigo Terpins and Michel Terpins would be brought together to form the Bull Sertões Rally Team. This was a team that would, later on, signify just how competitive the terpin brothers were. They would begin as driver and navigator respectively as Rodrigo Terpins had more experience in rallying as compared to his brother.
He would nurture the skills of Michel and soon enough he acquired the finesse that was required of a rally driver. This meant that it was time to expand the Bull Sertões Rally Team by splitting the two and getting each of them a navigator. This proved to be an excellent idea as it ensured that the team was represented by drivers who were competitive to the core. MEM would then develop the T-Rex a car that the team currently uses in all its races. This teamwork is what has seen the Bull Sertões Rally Team become one of the best teams in Brazil.
Mr. Michal Terpins made a strong appearance in 2016 at the Sertoes Rally edition 22, finishing at place number 7 and winning a medal for his performance. Mr. Michal Terpins did not take part in the rally alone as his brother Mr. Rodrigo Terpins also participated in the race.
A year later, Mr. Michal Terpins wins two out of three rounds in the latest race of Sertoes Rally. This was his 10th participation in the competition in his career. Many believed that Mr. Michal Terpins would have had an even better streak and in the third stage if his car did not experience a mechanical difficulty. That forced him to drive for about 306km at a slower pace which resulted in 2 out three instead of a perfect streak. Nonetheless, Mr. Michal Terpins was one of the five fastest drivers in the race many thanks to his navigator through the affair, Mr. Maykel Justo. The team performed rather well, and so both of them received recognition in the race.
The Sertoes Rally takes place every single year. The drive is almost a mile long and has at least a dozen participants every year. For Mr. Michal Terpins, this might be his most favorite competition as he always expresses his excitement for the race and has high spirits no matter how it goes for him personally. This year was his 10th time getting behind the wheel for the race. He was happy to see his brother taking a drive in the race as well. Mr. Rodrigo Terpins had his 6th time driving in the rally. He did so last year as well and had excellent results finishing among the top seven drivers.
Mr. Michal Terpins took part in the Sertoes Rally for the first time back in 2002. Back then instead of driving a car, Mr. Michal Terpins participated on a motorcycle for that category. Mr. Rodrigo Terpins was competing in the car category at the time, and so Mr. Michal Terpins later joined in on the action. Mr. Michal Terpins uses a T-Rex car and his navigator of ten years has been Mr. Maykel Justo.
