Many people, both fans and food critics alike, believe that eating in a real Italian restaurant can actually make you feel good. They credit that good feeling partly to the fact that when you are eating a genuine Italian meal, it can often feel like you are enjoying what some sources call “a home-cooked family meal” somewhere in Italy. Others believe that the positive feeling is due to to all the healthy ingredients in Italian food–not only the smell and taste but the actual health benefits of everything used in preparing numerous traditional Italian dishes. A partial list of the ingredients include: olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, basil and fresh mushrooms. These particular ingredients are all good for the body.
If you are ever in New York and you fin yourself searching for healthy Italian cuisine with ingredients such as those mentioned above, one critically-praised place to find it is at the Tarallucci e Vino Italian Restaurant. They have five locations. Specifically: Union Square, the East Village, NoMad, the Upper West Side and Cooper Hewitt.
Chef Riccardo Bilottai is reputed to be able to create meals that are a culinary combinations of modern and traditional italian dishes. They also offer espresso drinks, wines by the glass and baked goods too. According to online critics some of the highlights of this restaurant chain include a breakfast menu, available take out, a wine list, brunch hours, a lunch menu, outdoor seating, WiFi and private event space.
They are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 9 a.m. through 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Booking a table is not required but it is recommended. The Union Square location is a downtown loft venue that actually overlooks the city of Manhattan’s popular and historic neighborhood.
All of the locations are said to be noteworthy places for both dining and special events such as intimate, private dinners, various tastings, birthday parties, business meetings, wedding receptions and other large-scale celebrations. In fact, Tarallucci e Vino has two event spaces. The first of the two is the Mezzanine.
The mezzanine is said to be an “intimate room” suitable for smaller private get togethers for either 30 dinner guests or 80 cocktail partiers. It has a bar, antique cabinets, artwork, brick tables, a lounge, mirrors and a wine cellar. The second space is the sixth floor loft.
The sixth floor loft is noted to be a very versatile area. It features a bar, antique mirrors, custom-made tables, a lounge and reportedly “stunning” chandeliers. The maximum guest capacity of the venue is 250.
The restaurant also has new kitchen facilities, a reception area, on-site multimedia capabilities and is handicap accessible. For special events they provide such things as settings and offer multiple wedding categories including: bar and drinks, cakes and desserts, food and catering and of course their own service staff. Customers using the venue may also bring in their own caterer.
