Omar Yunes is a Sushi Itto franchisee. He won the title for the Best Franchisee of the World (BFW) competition in Italy for contributing to the product he represents. At 21 years, Omar ventured in the Japanese food chain and currently he owns 13 franchised firms in Mexico City, Veracruz, and Puebla.
Omar Yunes units represent 10% the products of the brand. Representatives from over 30 countries, including Brazil, Portugal, France, Italy, Argentina, and Hungary attended BFW. The event involved evaluating individuals and their effect on the network and not the brand. Officials looked at how much the franchise has influenced the network, knowledge contributions, saving implemented, employees motivation, and proposed budget to the model.
The organizer of BFW, Diego Elizarrarrás, stated that Omar won the award because he brought significant changes in the franchisor-franchisee relationship, information management, and used control boards to get precise dimensions of the units. For Elizarrarrás, the award represented an active part of the country that has managed to move to the international level. The CEO of Sushi Itto, Benjamin Cancelmo revealed that the recognition they received was a manifestation of their joint effort in offering excellent customer services.
Franchisee of Prendamex, Ivan Tamer, was in the second position in the Mexican chapter. He implemented and provided tools to accomplish a new marketing approach to manage the pawnshop’s network. Ivan has taken part in developing franchise by establishing outstanding parameters in the network.
